Stretch your worries away with Artful Movement yoga held in the MOCA galleries. These classes are a great opportunity for family fun, or for some solo relaxation.

Yoga is led by @y4c_official on the third Sunday of each month at 10am. As an added bonus, registration includes admission to the museum! Yoga-enjoyers at all skill levels are welcome.

Our next session takes place Sunday, June 16. Register at the link in bio to practice artful movement.

3. Art of the Figure workshop

This would be a great Reel- a timelapse of someone’s work in the figure drawing workshop (just of their page though, and only if the model is okay with it). If not, then a Reel showing all the artists setting up their sketchbooks, sharpening pencils, getting ready for the workshop, etc.

If not a Reel, then a carousel showing the pieces different attendees made after one of the workshops.

Figure drawing from a live model is extremely beneficial to all artists, no matter your experience or skill level. This technique helps you learn to render in three dimensions with more realism and accuracy, and helps with teaching hand-eye coordination and observational skills.

Take advantage of local artist and teacher William McMahan’s Art of the Figure Workshop at MOCA on the first and third Saturday of each month, at 3pm.

Register at moca-figure-drawing.eventbrite.com or at the link in bio.

Ages 18+MOCA Members $20 | UNF Students, Faculty, and Staff $20 | Non-Members $30

4. Project Atrium: Frank Stella

Carousel with initially a full-scale photo of the Jacksonville Stacked Stars installation, then a series of detail shots of the work, from different angles.

“Jacksonville Stacked Stars,” a nearly three-story-tall sculpture installation made for MOCA’s 100th anniversary, is a testament to the late Frank Stella’s genius contemporary vision.

This piece resides in MOCA’s atrium, and is composed of two separate steel and aluminum sculptures displayed as one. Frank Stella was an incredible sculptor and printmaker, and his contributions to the museum will be missed.

This sculpture, along with the exhibition, “Frank Stella: Printmaking” are on view through August 18, 2024, so be sure to come by and see these feats of modern art while they’re here!
